Welcome!
We are fortunate that after taking a year off in 2024, we found a way not only to survive but to grow. CSI students and alumni have kept us in their radar, and have graciously submitted us their works. At the same time, we have made arrangements with participants of the CSI English Department's undergraduate conference, Writing Matters, to publish their stories here as well.
What that means is a wide variety of fiction, poetry, and art for you to enjoy this semester. Inside are examinations of nature, neighbors, and the self. Writers here remind us that literature can both provoke thought and entertain us.
Our art is again from CSI Art Professor Angela Batchelor, but it's doing double-duty. While we still keep hoping CSI students in other disciplines will find ways to submit their works, Batchelor is also giving us a taste of what theater students at CSI undertake -- with two pieces used as cover art for theater productions in Fall 2024 of American Letter and Machinal, the former a play written by Associate Professor Burcu Seyben.
Again, thank you for your patience. I hope you will find your immersion into these works to be a highlight of your day.
Sincerely,
